A: Preveza Airport is the closest airport to Lefkas. Although Preveza Airport is on the mainland, it is just opposite Lefkas and it takes just a 15 minute drive from the airport to Lefkas town.


Q: What does Lefkas mean?
A: The island of Lefkas is also known as Lefkada, sometimes spelt as Lefkhada. The name of Lefkas comes from the Greek word 'leukos' (pronounced lefkos) meaning 'white', a reference to the stunning south-facing white cliffs of the island. Locally, the island is called Lefkada.


Q: How big is Lefkas Island?
A: Lefkas is just 31km Long and 13km Wide. You can drive from top to bottom in less than an hour and it takes less than two hours to drive around the whole island. This makes all of the beaches on Lefkas easily accessible to you during your holiday.
